This would be the "Forum" Module.
DEVELOPER NOTES: Admins would be able to create different forum categories and subcategories (giving each of the categories a corresponding icon, and ability to move the categories up and down on the list). There would also be the ability to create “Private Forums” which would be categories or sub-categories that are assigned specific Users - only those users would be able to post and see those categories.
The link itself would show newest posts/newest commented on posts.
Users would be able to select a category and make a post in it. Other users would be able to comment, upvote, or report the post (if reported, a message is sent to the admins so they can review the post and delete it if needed). Forum posts and replies should be a wysiwyg editor with the ability to “Upload Images” – not just add an image link. Forum posts and replies should also be able to have attachments.
New Forum Posts and replies should be added to a Digest that is sent to the Knights based on their preferences (Instantly, Daily, Weekly, Never). DEVELOPER NOTE: I would really love to bring back a feature that Yahoo Groups had in that the Knights who got the “Instant” updates were able to reply to the post via email and their reply would automatically be updated on the forum. This has been a big request since Yahoo Groups went away and we went to the CastleKnights.us system. This might take some research/time to implement.
